Celebrating Woman Leader: Niki Patel
What is your proudest accomplishment as a leader?
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to build a variety of businesses and real estate ventures, each helping me to work toward a larger mission of creating a meaningful, lasting legacy. The real reward lies in the impact I’m making—a legacy built on empowering others, upholding strong values, and fostering opportunities for future generations. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to embrace hard work, resilience, and vision, knowing that success isn’t just about what we achieve, but how we uplift and support those around us along the way.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give to other aspiring women leaders?
Trust in yourself and the choices you make. Confidence doesn’t have to be loud; it’s about believing in your own expertise and leadership, even in the quiet moments. Challenges will come, but they’re just part of the journey. When setbacks happen, remember they’re chances to learn, grow, and build even more resilience. And, above all, remember that leadership can be tough. It’s so important to take care of yourself—your mental health, your well-being, and your balance. Only then can you sustain success in the long run.
What inspires you most about your work or your industry?
What inspires me most about my work is the dynamic nature of it—balancing numbers, real estate markets, and strategic decision-making. As a budget analyst, I love the challenge of making sense of financial complexities. As a realtor, I find fulfillment in helping people find not just a house but a home. And as a consultant, I thrive on solving problems and creating opportunities.
But what truly drives me is the imperfection of it all—the unpredictable markets, the negotiations that don’t always go as planned, and the moments of doubt. Those imperfections push me to adapt, grow, and become more resilient. They remind me that leadership isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, learning, and finding solutions even when things don’t go as expected.
Who is a woman from history (or your own life) who has inspired you, and why?
Now, as an adult, I look back and realize that while every girl sees her father as her superhero, we often overlook the strength of our grandmothers and other female relatives around us. Growing up in a joint family, I was surrounded by ten incredible women who shaped me in ways I didn’t fully appreciate at the time. They showed me how to tackle tough situations with strength, find my way through life’s challenges, manage finances with care, and, above all, lead with kindness, empathy, and understanding.
In one word, how would you describe the legacy you want to leave as a leader?
I want to be recognized for my resilience.
