Only 3% of venture capital went to female founders in 2023, despite the proven ROI of women-led startups, and steady growth in female entrepreneurship. We have to change that.
TIE Women was created to remove barriers to access and funding for female entrepreneurs and provide a global platform for women-owned startups. As a chapter, we actively seek opportunities to elevate and empower female voices, support women-owned businesses, and ensure female representation.
TIE Women Pitch Competition
Our annual program provides female founders with an opportunity to compete at the TiE Global Summit. It also offers an opportunity to win an equity-free cash prize, gain investor access, receive mentorship, and a chance to connect with entrepreneurs from around the world. The local pitch competition’s top finalist from Tampa Bay is invited to pitch against TIE Women winners from around the world for a chance to win up to $50,000 in equity-free prize money.
The 2024 TiE Women Tampa Chapter winner, Alex Edquist of Good Agriculture, proudly represented the TiE Tampa and TiE Atlanta chapters at the TiE Women Global Competition (TGS) in Bangalore this December. Alex showcased her innovation on a global stage, connected with inspiring women entrepreneurs from around the world, and made a remarkable impression throughout the event.
